Bleeding The Brakes?

I just replaced my front brake pads with PBR's. The rotors were in excellent condition and were not replaced. I followed the procedure and it was a breeze. On my initial test drive and now a day later, the brake pedal feels squishy and soft. It feels like I have to push down too far for the brakes to engage. Did I do something wrong? Will they return after a few days of Driving? Should I bleed the Brakes? If so, is there a procedure to follow? 97 A8 3.7

...meaning, the brake pads need to wear a little so their surfaces fit/cover those of the rotors completely. The pedal of my car felt similar. The squishiness disappeared gradually over about 3-4 days (lenght of time of course depends on how much you drive/brake). I'd wait a couple of days to see if you notice enough improvement.
(Folks, tell me if I am wrong here. I am a newbie to brake jobs as some of you know.)
