Bleeding the brakes w/esp requires 29 psi, seriously?

I bled mine using the pedal. At the end, used the esp motor to clear out the fluid in the esp reservoir. It is outlined in the bentley manual.

Should be about 30, or at least that's what I used on my friend's car last weekend. Heck, the picture shows it at about 50 PSI.
