Default Brake pad warning light

G'day all... I'm getting an intermittent brake pad warning light on the dash lately. Everything looks good on Vag-Com and there's still plenty of pad material left. It's a '99 if that matters.

Default A short in the wiring

If you're lucky, there's a short right down near the connector. If you're unlucky, you might have to trace the wiring to find it.

See Paul W's site for the details (I think we really should all chip in for that spiral sliced ham... )

http://www.audipages.com/Tech_Articles/susp_whls_brake_steer/brakesensor.html</a

No, an open in the wiring. A broken wire or corroded connection turns on the light

Default I was told the site should be up later today

I renwed the URL last Friday, they said it was still "propogating" but that doesn't usually take more than 24 hours, normally less.

I think they did it again this morning....so hopefully it will be back up again very soon.

My 100 buck ebc greens set the lite off for weeks. My 30 buck autozone pads have not done it once lol

Default mine does it too but it's when there's condensation or high humidity in the air..

if there is a split in your pads, dust can build up there and when the dust gets wet it forms a bridge and then the sensor goes off...
