How difficult is it to replace the stop light switch? VAG-COM says mine has gone south and it's doing really silly things with the ECM and TCU. Paul, might you have the procedure to post? Thanks!

Thanks again Kind Sir!
I understand it's been a while since you've performed this procedure, but do you recall the bad switch causing the TC to lock and unlock like crazy? The symptoms that led to the scan were the TC locking and unlocking like crazy, followed by violent misfires and then the CEL and BRAKE MIL lights coming on and the car would not rev above 1600RPM. It didn't go into safe mode but it felt like it was stuck in 2nd or 3rd gear. So, I get to the garage, get the VAG-COM and get codes for several misfires, brake switch signal intermittent and then implausible and control voltage too low. Check the brake fluid reservoir and it's full. So, I clear all the DTC's and then she runs fine again for another hour. I let it sit for 3hours and then take her out again and 15mins into my drive, the cycle starts all over again.
