Default Brake warning.

Just wondering if any ideas here.
Low brake pad warning light had come on...
I pulled all four wheels and brakes are all fine.
I jumpered the front sensors (just connect the two open connectors right?) and light still stayed on.
Is this a vagcom reset? The rear brakes have no wear indicators.
Is there a secret fuse?
I'll be taking it to the mechanic soon anyhoo, as I did notice a torn CV boot.
Thanks in advance!

Default I connected the two contacts of the brake sensors at no avail. A while ago PaulW...

Default Does your brake warning

come/stay on every time you start the car, or is it just occasionally?

Default There is a secret way to disable the "Pad Worn" idiot light feature.

I still don't know what it was, but a Dealer Found A Way.

Default Shorting the wires is not enough sometimes...

I drove with indicatorwire-less pads for a while and used the "use an old pad-plug and cut and twist the wires" trick to have the system stay in a permanent ground-loop.

In my case i often still got the light. I then though that maybe the female-side of the plug, that's the side that stays on the car, might not make good contact.

And so it did (not). The female-side was corroded a bit. I cleaned the holes thoroughly and also bend the two pins on the pad-side slighty with a pair of pliers.
That assured good permanent contact between the male (pad) en female (car) sides.

If one of the four pins (two per side) makes bad contact your screwed. I use this trick everytime now. I never saw the light come up again. It works great.

Default Here's the PaulW fix ...

Though he calls it a Simple Fix, you do have to pull the instrument cluster to cut and jumper a wire.

Default So it's an Audigod issue it sounds like.

D'oh!
Thanks for the responses folk's!
Sorry to say I cannot morph into PW for a couple hours for his fix.
There is/was some corrosion in there that I tried to clean and added some contact enhancer spray in there... to no avail.
In light of this and the responses here, I "think" Perhaps there may be some corrosion with the car side connectors where the wires are connected to the connector ... if that makes sense. Particularly if they are crimped on. So, I wonder if I somehow cut open one of these (or just cut it off) and connect the wires together if the light would then go off?
I check the brakes often enough and know the brakes well enough that an idiot light is unnecessary in my case, but would this work?
I'm temped to pull the warning light fuse as a last resort.
Thanks again!

you can also cut the connectors off and splice, p/o did that on mine.
