brakes hard to puch

I have 98 a8 Quattro and recently my brakes have gotten hard to push to stop does anyone have a clue what this could be?

A major vacuum leak leading to the brake booster or a failed brake booster itself.

^^ This, if you mean a "hard pedal" (short travel, no cushion), with little stopping power.
