Brilliant Black/Amaretto
Just special ordered my A8L. I asked for the metallic black they use on the Allroad (Brilliant Black I think) since the Ebony gloss finish will get beat up pretty bad here in Colorado. My dealer confirmed it with Audi and said it tacked on an extra 6 weeks so I should get it in March or April 2004. I also fully loaded the car -- security glass, rear climate, etc. -- the whole bit.
I am curious what you guys thought of the color combo. I am also wondering when next year's model was coming out and if I should wait for next year's model given all the bugs the '04 seems to have.

My dealer told me that ebony was the gloss paint similar to the A6 2.7T I have today and that brilliant was the metallic. We had to special order the paint job on the car so I hope I didn't screw it up.

If you can stand to wait, it makes good sense...
...not just because of the bugs, but also to get some of the features we wish we had and know are coming soon--for example, XM Radio, Phat Box, directional headlights. And maybe, if you're lucky, a fully integrated phone. But waiting is hard, once you've been bitten...

MIlos, the color combo sounds perfect. I have amaretto and I love it. My outside color is night blue. Since you are waiting so long I think I agree that waiting until 05 model year has advantages. However, I have had no problems with my 04 A8L (serial 8170) in 3100 miles. AS has been posted ad nauseaum in the forum the phone integration in the 04 A8L is not too good and we are still waiting for satellite radio. Presumably these issues will be solved for 05.
