Default Broke down today!

I said in my last post (yesterday), that the hesitation problem was the first time the car had had a problem. Thanks for the suggestions by the way.

Anyway, I set off early this morning with a haevy trailer behind me, intending to do a 600 mile round trip. 100 miles down the motorway and I hear this strange sound, next thing the battery light comes on and the power stearing stops working (that's a shock!).

The auxilery belt has snapped. I have to have the car recovered by the RAC and transfer the goods on the trailer to a hire van.

So, is it easy to change the auxillery belt (This is an S8 4.2 1997)? Also am I best to change the belt tensioner as well, or anything else whilst doing this job? Is there a proceedure anywhere for this, or is it a simple job?

Thanks again for the input!

Alan S.

The control arms arrived today (To my work place, so I have not seen them yet)
