Reposting as I accidentally placed this in the D3 forum.

I have a '99 A8 and I recently replaced the driver's side mirror that had turned bronze with a used mirror from an Audi/VW salvage yard. The used mirror was bluish clear when I purchased it, and within a week it had turned bronze. Is it possible there is a problem with the dimming of my driver's side mirror causing it to be constantly bronze? Or was the mirror I purchased bad and was ready to go bronze. What's causing them to go bronze anyway?
