Hello gang,
I have a new (to me) 1998 A8 4.2. I have a problem with the A/C drain, in that it doesn't. After running the A/C for 30 minutes or so I can hear water sloshing around behind the dash. If I turn the car at a moderate speed the water will come spilling out either on my feet or the passengers feet. It comes out in a stream, more than a couple of drops. Obviously this was not quite the Audi A8 experience I was looking for :-)
I would imagine the drain tube is plugged but I could not locate it, nor could my mechanic. Has anyone had this experience or any pointers as to location both inside the car and outside on where the drain originates and where it exits would be most appreciated.

Open up the passenger side footwell panel (1 screw), put a large towel on your floor after removing the floor mats and remove the orange rubber gasket plug. Wash it out and reinstall and look for water dripping out the next time you run your a/c. If you do a search on this boardyou'll find a picture from a user called Clong - it was invaluable info and assisted me when I had wet feet.

Follow <a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a8/msgs/28364.phtml">this link</a>, it shows the orange drain that needs to be cleared, you can figure out how to remove the side panels <a href="http://www.audipages.com/upgrades/v60install.html">by clicking here</a> and going down the page, it shows you.

Just wanted to thank those who responded. The help was timely and accurate. My A/C drain is now cleared!!
This is a 98 A8 is a new car to me and I was a little apprehensive about repairs etc on the car. With this great resource, I am now really excited about owning the car.

You should STILL be apprehensive about repairs; get aftermarket warranty coverage, like warrantyBynet or similliar unless you have the occaisional 300 to 600 to drop on leaky seals etc.
Your car is the exact age for all kinds of seal leaks.
