Call for participants with Vag com please-Logs of your car required
I would like to obtain several full sets of logs from several cars that hunt and thump for scruitiny so that I can then get several full sets of Vag logs from several cars that dont hunt and thump under similar driving conditions for comparison.
All logs will need to be in excel format and for the firts part taken as the hunt/thumping is occuring.
All results will be posted and identities will remain in confidence.
Please feel free to email me direct and include a general description of conditions ie temp/terrain etc so I can compare apples with apples

Can you post a write up of the procedure?
I've only used VAG-COM to clear CELs, pull codes, recode the trans and window/lock settings, etc. I've never messed around much with the monitoring/logging features. I know people have posted tidbits here and there on the topic (even earlier today, in fact). But for the sake of consistency (and sanity) please post exactly what you want, and how to obtain it. That way everyone's on the same page...
I'd be happy to attempt it this weekend for you.

Ok first you must have Vag-com and xcel on your laptop
then start car and launch Vag-com
Go to engine-check and clear faults-recheck
if clear then click measuring blocks
then choose 000 for group 1-001 for group 2-and 002 for group three
next click log then start
then drive your car as you do normally for a km and try to make the hunting occur.
Then stop click done and close.
repeat for 003 004 005 then
006 007 008
etc.
when all logs are complete they are saved by default to Program files/Vagcom/logs folder.
Please email these to me.
Any problems please ask.
I am very keen to find if there are any differences that repeatedly show in cars.
Important to drive in a similar way for each group.
Thanks and good luck
Any further info required please email or post

Yes sure!
If I can reclaim the lap top from my wife!
something about an "on line class" Oh to be married to a school teacher!
I
ll capture some data tomorrow (If i can steal the lap top away) MY car is just starting to revert back after a reset. I want to capture before and after data.
