Default Calling PaulW: Is BIRA still offering the brake upgrade you made for the A8?...

If not, Does anyone have drawings, dimensions for the hats and brackets. Im putting the brakes on my soon-to-do list.

Also, anyone do this for the rears as well? If so, whats involved?

Default The Stasis S4 kit fits the rear ... probably.

I installed it on the rear of my S8. If the bracket mounting bolts are the same, it'd fit an A8 also.

Default I'm going to say no

Getting anything from BIRA takes a LONG time. Great kit, but I would look at something else personally.

Why not find a S8 that is in the bone yard, buy the front end and brakes.....

Any detectable difference in braking from this, Randy?

Default I have just finished designing one in CAD last night

I am going to upgrade my brakes so S8 calipers and rotors (D2)

Last night i finally had a chance to sit down and finish the design in SolidWorks. I should have the first article back early next week.

I have a great C&C guy. So i am hoping to have then available for around $175 for a set.

Email me at jason@partsscore.com if your interested.

I love that program. Designing is so much easier now.

Default How do you handle the S8's radial mount caliper on an A8?

Seems like you'd need S8 uprights, or a custom rotor with a BIRA type adapter, and that it'd likely be an Expensive Project.

Default Surprisingly noticeable.

IMHO, the S8/A8 has too much front brake bias. That larger rotor in the rear shifts bias back enough that the fronts don't lock into ABS prematurely.

Default definitely interested ..... question ......

Are the mounts for the 2000 1/2 - 2003 A8/A8Ls brakes the same as the S8? Might be a cheep alt. to finding the S8 brakes.

Default Thanks, Sounds like making the brackets and hats are required. Is the $175 material and mfg?.......

You wouldnt mind sending me the models would you say in .iges or .x_t form. I'll donate my skills to run ANSYS FEA on them if you want.
