Cam tensioner noise
Does anyone else hear a rattling noise at
certain RPM's ? I think that this only happens
on the 40v engines but I could be wrong. A few people on the A6 board with 4.2's have had the same problem. Basically, you get a "rattle" at say 2000 RPM's (going up or down). Dead ringer for a loose heat shield. Dealer says it's the cam tensioner and it's "non repairable" which I find hard to believe. Anyone have this problem and gotten it fixed ? I brought this up about six months ago but seemed to be the only one in the A8 world with the problem.
