Default Can someone with hunting/shuddering and Vag-Com do me a favor.....edit (x2)........

and do a log of the knock sensors and timing when the car is hunting/shuddering. If the knock sensors were outputing incorrect data the timing should retard and power loss would occur as TCU was trying to figure out whether or not to shift gears. Just a hunch.............

edit: this might also help explain why the cars run so much better when cold (the knock sensor/timing retard function should be used less).

edit2: i know that timing is retarded during shifting, but i want to see what the knock sensors are doing. if they outputting during this period then the sum of auto timing retard and knock sensor retard would more than likely cause low torque output and a confused TCU....

Default I must admit I've seen a correlation between lower octane and hunting.......

I still get some hunting with 93 gas, but becuase the accel is a lot more agressive (my guess FWIW) there is less opportunity to hunt than when I cheap out with 89 or 90.
