Default can someone tell me what this plug is in front of the radiator??

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/91663/ac_plug2.jpg"></center><p>
is it the low pressure switch for the AC unit or something else?? it's located on the right bottom front of the radiator (if you're looking straight down at it from the front of the car)

because if it's truely the low pressure switch, than i can "jump" it so i can recharge my AC unit.

thanks

Default Be very careful. That is the ICBM trigger. First, put a wig and a clerical collar on a small dog...

Like so:

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/84266/odddog.jpg">

This will have no effect on the potentially catastrophic consequences of actuating the ICBM button -- the initiation of global thermonuclear warfare -- but it will make you laugh, and laughter is relaxing, and a good sapper needs to stay relaxed. (If you do not know what a sapper is, immediately acquire a copy of Michael Ondaatje's haunting and illuminating novel "The English Patient", read it in full, and return to this post. We'll wait here for you.)

Next, learn all you can about hippopotami. This will also have no effect on the potentially catastrophic consequences of actuating the ICBM button, but the subject of Hippopotamus Amphibius is a fascinating one. For instance, hippopotami give birth underwater, and the Disney-like images that result give a tender counterpoint to this beast's reputation as a savage and unrepentant man-killer:

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/84266/babyhippo.jpg">

Also, a hippo can run as fast underwater as it can on land, an impressive feature in a creature whose weight can reach 10,000 lbs:

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/84266/hippounderwater.jpg">

Here's where things start to get interesting. The casual sharing of facts like these in a convivial social setting can win you the attention of hot science chicks like Kari Byron of the popular television program "Mythbusters":

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/84266/karibyron.jpg">

Now, once Science Chick is focused on you, play it cool. Cologne and brand clothing are not your friend in this arena. Just rap to her, dawg! When the time feels right, put on a little music. It's hard to go wrong with Marvin Gaye in a situation like this:

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/84266/marvin.jpg">

Then, put on a black turtleneck and tell her you're going to hypnotize her:

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/84266/hypnotist.jpg">

That sh*t never works, of course, but it makes chicks giggle, and you want her relaxed.

Once the music and the laughter have softened her up, tell her about your years after WWII (refer to it as "dubya dubya ding ding" for the ring of authenticity), when you worked your way across Southern Italy as a sapper. Explain that your nerves are shattered. Ask her to go out to your car and use her superior technical skills and steady nerves to push the ICBM button. Get under something super safe while she's exiting the bar!

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/84266/duck_cover.jpg">

If you don't hear a huge whooshing sound in the next minute or so indicating that an ICBM has been launched, the coast is clear, and thermonuclear war has been averted. You've gotten very lucky. Now, steal a bicycle and ride home, where Kari awaits you. Your work is done, and you may now get your freak on.

Default The switch is behind

the front bumper on the driver's side. You will probably have to remove the bumper to get to it (not a big deal). I might have a photo at home on my camera that I can post this afternoon when I get home. Here's some pix from the Bentley:

<img src="http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh156/ricoblanco/Pressureswitch1.gif">

<img src="http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh156/ricoblanco/Pressureswitch2.gif">

Here's a test you can do (I think Paul already posted this, but here it is anyway):

To test cooling efficiency with switch removed, bridge terminals -1- and -2- on harness connector -B-.
The A/C refrigerant circuit remains closed due to the Schrader valve in the line connection.
Testing
Start engine.
Compressor switched on (AUTO mode selected)
If the compressor is activated:
Disconnect harness connector -B- from switch.
Compressor will stop (low pressure switch open).
Remove switch -A- and install harness connector -B-.
Compressor will not be activated (low pressure switch open).
If the compressor is not activated:
Disconnect harness connector -B- from switch -A- and bridge terminals -1- and -2- on harness connector -B-.
The compressor will be activated.
<b>Note</b>
If the compressor is activated when the terminals are connected together, either the pressure in the A/C system is too low (A/C system empty), or the switch is malfunctioning.

Default Here's a real-life pic of

the F129 switch (combo high/low):

<img src="http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh156/ricoblanco/F129Switch.jpg">

And yes, my shock absorber is all cracky and breaky, but that thing is expensive to replace! BTW, there is a very nice picture on <b>PaulW's</b> write-up on Audipages for the Front End Removal (the switch doesn't match the Bentley pic I posted though).
