Default What's a CAT lamp?

Same as a CEL (Check Engine Light)? Or something specific to the catalytic converters?

No fault codes would make me think it might be something wrong with the lamp circuit.

Default I believe it's the light that comes on when a dog chases the car

It's basically the euro version of the check engine light.

You'll need to pull the codes with vag-com. You can see the CAT light in the picture below, and the US bound check engine light next to that.

Closed a "new" faultcode regarding the tranny. Fault code 17114.
Strange,

Default Cut'n'pasted, no formatting, so it's ugly:

17114
P0730
2 Dcy

Gear
ATF dirty or level not OK

- Check ATF level page 37-24 .

Incorrect Ratio
Clutch slipping or malfunctioning
Solenoid valve dirty or malfunctioning

- Check using output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) page 01-72 .

Sensor for transmission RPM -G182- malfunctioning

- Carry out corrective actions for DTC 17100/P0716.

Sender for transmission output RPM -G195- malfunctioning

- Carry out corrective actions for DTC 17968/P1560.

TCM incorrect or incorrectly coded

- Check TCM identification page 01 -19 .

Notes for malfunction recognition of DTC 17114/P0730: When testing the full braking RPM, the transmission input speed (in the converter with a transmission range engaged) must be close to zero at a standstill. Otherwise, this malfunction is stored, since clutch damage could occur. Read measuring value block, display group 001 page 01-80 .
TCM gear monitoring checks the relationship between transmission input and output speeds with respect to the drive range selected. This malfunction is stored when that relationship is implausible.

Default If I got that one and didn't loose a gear, I would be changing the ATF fluid and filter ASAP

Now I have figured it out, if you have lost a gear such as Tozo did with 2nd or others have with reverse, there is something ripped or broken inside the gearbox.

But if you don't have any other ratio fault codes and all the gears work some of the time, a fluid and filter change out works a lot of the time to keep the tranny running for months or years.

Going to change the fluid and filter this weekend. The tranny works perfectly! No hunting or other bad behavior. Shifts perfectly and without any "thumps" No slipping.
