Had my 1998 Audi A8 D2 garaged for the last 3 years. I had bought a newer model and had somewhat forgotten about the '98. The interior is mint and the body sound so I'm trying to get it back on the road. Installed a new battery and a used fuel pump and it started right up, but runs poorly. Engine light is flashing and I recall when I originally stored it my mechanic mentioned it was in need of a catalytic converter. Hearing horror tales about installing an aftermarket converter and a new OEM converter is easily a $1k+. Any thoughts on this topic? Thanks!
