Default Clean your floormats lately?

Even though it rained we stopped at the carwash. Not to clean the outside of the car, but to clean out the cockpit. We vacuumed the seats and floor and the car looks a lot better.

I challenged my wife to an experiment. I asked her to use our steam cleaner on the floor mats. Since she'll be taking the A8 if/when I finally get an S4, she was happy to waste this time.

I don't think these mats had ever been washed.

Check this out.. the clean mats:

The dirty water from the steam cleaner:

Default What steam cleaner is that?

Is it decent?

I've hit my mats with some good carpet/upholstery cleaner, then vacuumed, but never steam cleaned them.

Why not splurge and have it detailed once a year? They'll shampoo your carpets and door cloth. Just remind them that it's REAL wood trim and not to use plastic cleaning spray on it .. it leaves a shiny oil slick.

Default Re: Wood trim

Actually, it pretty much is plastic, with the thick polymer coating on it. Plexus is the right stuff for the wood, because of this.

Default LOL misread you ;) I get it.

So I wonder why the "oil slick" rainbow effect was so noticeable on the wood if it's thick plastic coating actually wants plastic "cleaner".

I'll see what they used that time.
