Default Clear Corner Mod - How do I get the reflector out now?

Okay, I'm stumped...it appears the clear plastic lens is connected to the frame with some type of silicone.....do I separate the two or do I somehow get the orange piece out by magic?

Default Use a hair drier to heat it up a little and the two pieces will come ...

apart but it's messy sticky stuff.

I have not done mine yet, but want to!

Default Double check with TerminA8r, but I think the orange reflector ----->

gets snipped into small pieces....small enough to fit out of the hole for the bulb once it is loosened from the housing with low profile snips/cutters. Essentially it gets reflector needs to be destroyed.

Double check with those who have been there first.

Any chance you could post a few pics of the back side of your headlight? Specifically the areas where the headlight and self leveling harness plugs in.

thanks

You have to use heat to separate them. Go slow. And use steady pressure....

They just did this about a month ago. Found this thread, but have to run out so I can't check them all; it's gotta be in here somewhere...

Surgery Procedure

Default Got it

I would suggest that you almost get a set of three plastic tire irons for a bicycle....I used a trim removal tool and then a small screw driver to keep the parts apart while separating the whole thing.

I will write up a procedure for audipages......it looks good, but I wish I could of got the inside cleaner (the shiny part) before I put it back together. It looked clean at the time.

I wouldn't try this without a heat gun. Looks very cool. Got the clear bulbs also.

Default There is only one harness on the 01's

I don't know if it was you, but somebody said that they had two sets of wires for an 02....I looked them up, and the 01 and 02/03 are different as I recall.
