Cleared all codes- why is my CEL still on?
<center><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v204/therotman/audi-vacum001.jpg"></center><p>Now that my squeaky steering wheel and clicking are gone I went to work on the fault codes.
I had:
16502- Engine Coolant Temp.Circ High Input
17538 & 17536 Long Term Fuel Trim mult.,Bank 1 & 2 System too Lean
17831 & 17819- Sec.Air Inj.Sys.,Bank 1 & 2 Flow too Low
I found help in the "lunchmeat" thread for the air system and found I also had a short vacuum hose. My hoses look a little weathered so I tried to find new hose and my local auto parts stores but nobody had any so I just rerouted the hose so it could connect again.
I cleared the codes last night and now after driving the car today none of the codes have come back but the CEL is still on. What does it take to turn the CEL off?
Also- could fixing this leak also fix the other codes that I was getting? They seem unrelated to me.

Did you clear the codes under each module?
I know when I first started using VAG-COM, I chose the clear codes option under the main screen. This would not turn the CEL off. Then I went under each module and cleared them and off she went.

I didn't have the iginition on when I ran VAG-COM- it's cleared now!
I could see the faults under the Auto-scan with the iginition off but nothing came up when I ran each module. Mark'sA8L helped me figure it out. Thanks!
