Thanks again Tom, the thumbwheel has problems. The meas. block did not change. It seems to be a mechanical fault with the wheel itself. I will cut and bend a vent puller as described (pictured) on Paul W's excellent audipages. It sounds like perhaps a plastic link came loose.
