Default Compressor pictures, leaking A/C.

The leak is from the allen bolt on the right. I know that is hard to see but there is green and then a trail of gunk going back from there.

Default I sprayed brake cleaner, cleaned it up real good and I'm rejuicing the system.

I am going to lay underneath the car while A/C is running to see if I can pinpoint.

I've had good luck with the fluorescent dye to locate leaks.

Does the clutch leak? It seems to me that there's green fluid around the front of the compressor.

Default the compressor.

AC compressors have only ONE external seal.

The output shaft.

That seal is just behind the clutch. I think you can figure out the resat.

Cheers

Default Leaking compressor

If you can fix that seal, go for it. If you end up replacing the compressor, try the link below. I bought mine from them- cheapest i could find (brand new for a reman price) with a year warranty.

clicky

Default Where do I get this seal? If I can get it I'll endeavor to fix it. What do I have to lose?

It's already leaking. If I can't fix it then I'll buy another one.
How much can this seal be anyway?

I have no specific knowledge of what can or can not be done to replace the Audi AC compressor seal. The item you have found might be the one. Can the seal be replaced without a complete dismantle of the compressor unit? I do not know. But an automotice AC specialist would be a great help. better than the dealer I would wager.

Good luck!
