Now I am confused, I have the original Factory Windows Sticker and stated that my car (1998 A8)has the "electronics package". I do have the rear lumbar support adjustments, electronic adjustable head rests etc... Is it true the "electronics package" included the Xenon headlamps? They don't have the purplish hue to them, how can I tell for sure what I have?

if there is a rectangular metal box with a lightning bolt on it then you have Xenon HID low beams. If not, you have halogen (non-HID) low beams.

I found this on Audi World. Can you tell me if this ended up working as you expected? If so where did you order them, are you happy with them? How is the "bi" functionality working out? Thanks in advance.

This is the same type of lighting system that is coming to the US in the 2004 A8. I just received these from Germany, and I must say they look really nice. The lens/lampholder assembly is a direct replacement for the stock unit- a direct bolt in! The ignitor and ballast have been integrated into a single small package that should fit within the confines of the headlamp bucket- I'll find out soon, hopefully. These allow for the HID xenon lamp to be used for BOTH high and low beams, unlike the stock Xenon HID systems that use standard Halogen lamps for the high beams. Here is a picture of the whole system:

Actually, 98 is the first year they offered them on the A8 as an option. From what I can tell it was part of the "electronics" package.
