Default Control Arms Recall SURPRISE!!! It's not what you think.

I have replaced lower control arms on both my A8 and A4 therefore I was expecting a rather nice check from Audi. Surprise!! I got $200.00 back. First off I got ZERO back on the A4 for which I replaced both lower rear control arms. The Audi service action states" Audi has found that in rare cases one or both front suspension lower control arms on affected vehicles can exhibit wear" " The affected control arm(s) will be replaced free of charge if one or both front suspension control arms are worn or rubber boots are degraded". AOA advised me that ONLY the FORWARD front lower control arms were covered and I replaced the rear front lower control arms. Therefore I get nothing. I pointed out and read to AOA what their service action stated. The response from AOA was that their service action letter could have been better written and should have stated front suspension lower forward control arms. My take on this was that Audi was getting killed with the massive amount of claims and some brilliant AOA executive come up with a way to cut their loses in half my claiming they really intended only the lower FORWARD contol arms to be covered. As for the A8, they failed to cover labor because the work was done by an independant shop which didn't list the audi part number on their invoice. I have to return to the independant shop and get a statement from them on their letterhead that they installed a genuine Audi control arm. Then I will be reimbursed $81.00, the non-audi rate for installation. Now 4 months and 3,000 after my recall inspection, the control arms on the other side of my A8 need replacing. AOA says sorry you get no help from us you had your inspection. With only 4 moths and 3,000 miles later I don't think they did much of an inspection.
