Default Control Arms Replacement Question!!!

I have a 1997 A8 that needs the control arms and tie rods replaced. I had a question regarding the control arms: Why replace the entire control arm? Why not just replace the control arm bushings???? Any special tool required to remove the bushings??

Any thoughts.

Thanks

Default Don't believe you can replace the bushing alone

Here's a picture of the straight control arm, this one has three bushings, I would rather buy a new one with the 3 bushings for $100 versus trying to press the bushings in/out, plus you can't replace the joint on the outside either, all four control arms have that joint.
