I gotta a presisting problem with my audi A8 4.2 97 model where it will takes three, four or even five times to start it if it was not a cold start.
There would be a sound as if something was getting loose and spins freely downthere.
If it was the starter motor windings then it is a very big job just to remove the motor.
Is this sort of problem a common one with this model?

to the flywheel, aka the "bendix" is not working. If it were the windings the starter motor would not work at all.
