10 days on a business trip with my wife and 8 month old in the car. never had any problems with comfort or reliability. TAKE A RADAR DETECTOR!!!!!!! They come in handy on the long strecthes between states when the car majically finds itself into triple digits. Have Fun.

My car has been from Chicago to LA and Chicago to DC and Chicago to Hilton Head and Chicago to Aspen. I have always made sure the car was in the shop for oil and checks before a major road trips.
I commend you for packing a survival kit. I have never had an issue with my car and have not broken down on the highway on a road trip. I have thought about carrying an extra belt just as know one outside a major city would have a belt. Even then, there is an Audi dealer in just about every state.
I had an issue once as I was pulling into Aspen. I took it to Glenwood Springs the next morning. No problems..... Just go on the road and be worry free.
