Default Cruise Control

You know I was thinking it was just picky based on previous posts but I know it's broke. It works once in a great while. For a short period of time and then disengages. When it doesn't work it doesn't even try. The few times it does it works great..... breifly. Any ideas?

Default Well I have read about the contacts going bad ( can be cleaned ). Also make sure the F125 switch ..

... harness does not have any water or corrosion. Jack the car up and unplug the switch.

Much of the corrosion in my F125 was from water sitting in the switch. The plug is easy to see from under the car and is easy enough to unplug I would check that first. Remember my F125 switch was affecting my cruise without any doubt.

Default Check the vacuum hose that runs right along the drivers side fender. It should come to a T fitting

and check all fittings.

Default

Mine sometimes has to be reset by turning it off (with a click) and turn it back on again

Default Re: Cruise Control

On my wife's 99 A8Q, we had the exact same problem. We had to bring it back several times under Audi Assured warranty to get it fixed. First time they installed a new turn signal switch which didn't fix the problem. Finally they replaced the Cruise Control Module (4B0-907-305) and associated(?) Repair Kit (4D0-298-135-B) which solved the problem!

Default I took the switch apart and it was corroded.

I've pried open just the end of the switch. A little contact cleaner fixed it.
