I had a friend look at an A8 and he loved the car except for the fact that it only had one cup holder. Has anyone been that neurotic thus to retrofit a second cupholder???

Folds flat like a glasses case when not in use. Any VW parts dept can get it for you. Price should be high $30 range.

old style Passat cupholder

I bought a cheap (89c) plastic cup holder at Target. With a bit of foam rubber to brace it, it hooks right in to the right side of the center console up forward, and is good enough for a temporary cup holder for the passenger. Doesn't look real cool, but it works. When not in use, it rides on the floor in the back seat area.
No doubt, a car as superb as an A8/S8 should have another cupholder ... also, the hooks above the back doors inside for hanging shirts, dry cleaning, etc are pathetic. How can such great Audi engineering have overlooked two so simple items?
Otherwise, though, the car is sensational!
