Can anyone tell me when the A8 became available with DRL? I'm connsidering importing an A8 to Canada and the vehicle will need DRl to be imported.

Hi,

I'm just in the process myself.
I just imported a '99 A8. (non-HID)

Near as I can tell, the easiest solution is to run a standard SPST relay (battery, ground, siwtched signal in, and relay out conections to the two low beams/fog lights.

The difficulty will be doing it without triggering an error in the system check. I figure the fog lights are better as DRL's, as I don't think the system checks the fog light circuit until you try them (if at all)....

I'm doing the conversion tonight, so I'll let you know.

u can try that, they have them unit at canadian tire or do what ive done, turn the lights ON and turn the car off, when they go and start it up, they lights are already ON and they pass my car, EVIL but works
