i thought about that modifying the lower arm route as well then decided to try fitting into stock setup as best i can. may not fit though im still experimenting myself.
before you modify anything have you tried to see if it'll fit with stock upper arm? the stock pivot point? it'll be cheaper, faster and more serviceable in the future, stock arms instead of a modified ones. if you leave stock spring and just add JUST enough spring to the coilover package it should NOT be that much sprung weight on that little punny control arm. i know it looks weak, def not able to take all of the rears weight but just as a "helper" i think its sufficient. As well the knuckle's top pivot is only strong enough to "help" with weight.

No i havnt, im using the original shock mounting point, will probably just order som aluminium and mill my own lower controll arms, another option is to just plug the holes where the stock shock bushing goes and mill the stock arm so that i can mount the QA1's.
For the record, they are really cheap for what they can do, $300 a piece brand new from Summit. Will take some time as this is for a build i have been working on for a long time, not my daily S8 but once i get some progress ill make sure to update this topic.
