Default DC still getting pounded but the A8 can get around

We have got about 16+ inches of snow here. I am amazed that the A8 can still get around!!! I am so amazed that I might just go get an A4 too. My other daily driver is a bimmer but I would never think of driving it in this. I am going to start looking for an A4. This is FUNNNNNNN. b

Default I heard a story of a guy who took his A8L(who lives in montana) and went threw 2 1/2 feet of snow(m)

But his SUV got stuck trying the same thing. Also aren't they great in the rain!! It never pulls when you hit a puddle.

Default Are A4's slow? 1.4t or 2.8? I know that an S4 would be fast...

I am enjoying no car payment now but.... maybe an S4 would be enticing enough. Does anyone know the 0-60 times of the different A4's? Thanks, b

Default A4's feel way underpowered compared to the A8

When my A8 was in the shop, I had a 1.8T as a loaner....the turbo was fun, but nothing compared to the 4.2L V8.......As far as the 2.8, it just feels really sluggish compared to the A8......

As far as the S4, I've never driven one, but I did run with one on the highway from 40-100, and I stayed with it pretty easily.....don't know if the S4 was modded or if he was a 6 speed or tip, but I know the driver was trying to run, since he was the one who made the move to start the run......I know they would pull relatively easily on us 0-60, and destroy us with some mods......I can't imagine how hard they would pull on us with K04 turbos in a 30-110 run....once those are at full boost, they are monsters.

Default 1.8T with a chip is adequate

Its still close to a second slower to 60 than our S8 but 245 lbft of torque in the midrange isnt bad for a 3300-3400 pound car. By comparison the stock 150-160 lbft torque seems quite pale.

(It also gets 28mpg on the highway)

Default Snow in D.C.

I live in D.C. as well and cleaned up my A8L on Saturday morning before all the snow. Torn between letting it out to play (once I shovel through some of this stuff to the snow-packed road) and keeping it clean! It was fun enough in my wife's Denali.
