Default $280 not that bad when you consider the price of fluid/ parts.

An independent can do it for less of course, but he'd still have to get the fluid from the dealer.
At least you called around first. Print the Audipages procedure for them.

Be careful! This probably includes the fluid change only. If you want the filter to be changed ( who wouldn't )they will tell you that they have to remove the catalic converter in order to remove the pan. They quoted me for the filter and gasket $135, the fluid $22/Liter ( VW has for $14.60/ Liter ). I don't know what year is your car, but if you follow Paul's instructions, you will be satisfied with the result. It took me 3 hours and less than $200.

Default Most if not all Audi techs will follow the Audi procedure if working for an Audi auth service

If you want a different procedure followed, best to go to an inderpendent.

I paid about 5 bills for oil / tranny fluid and filter as well as a hose replacement. Sounds like the going rate is what you are getting for the one. The 280 does sound cheap. Id make sure they really know what they are doing.
