Default Re: describe "limp mode" and "hunting"

1. limp mode is when the dash lights up and PRND432 all light up and the transmission goes into limp mode, torque converter open, and it drives around in 4th gear. It ain't pretty.

2. Hunting is when the torque converter drops in and out of lockout, normally in 4th and 5th gear going from 38 to about 50 MPH, but it also happens on the highway when you lift on the gas.....when it does, it disengages the torque converter, then reengages it a few seconds later and then you get the "thump" described as the drive train gets hooked back up with the engine.....rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat.
