I only heard from Jim thus far, I am looking to beat Tire Racks price of 181- so realistically 75 for a worthwhile tire or a bit more if it is mint. I could use a good amount of tread, not sure where the penny test would be on a new one. I looked at my tires, I am up to Lincolns nose (when upside down)

50 bucks would be a waste of effort, so 75 or more if both of you guys have mint tires

Here's an interesting article on matching tread depth for AWD vehicles where they calculate total rotation distance from slight differences in diameter:

The Lincoln Nose is around 6/32 to 7/32. Therefore a new tire would exceed Audi's recommendation on tire tread difference of 4/32.
