1998 A8.

My driver door mirror won't adjust completely. goes left/right but won't go up all the way (seems to want to go left instead when adjusting up).

My mechanic replaced the switch but mirror still won't adjust right. He says i need a new mirror. if he plugs in a good mirror, it adjusts all the way correctly.

The memory part doesn't seem to work for mirror or seats but i don't care about that and just want the mirror to adjust correctly.

What goes bad with these things? I am aware the PO replaced the mirror glass and wonder if he didn't jam something. Any suggestions?
