Default Does anyone know how to line up tube in fuel tank with tube on pump assembly

My mechanic has spent several hours with trial and error but has yet been unable to line up the small tube on the pump assembly kit and the tube in the tank.
Any suggestions would be welcolme

Default My earlier problem now resolved

Well you were all to slow and the mechanic has cracked it to his utter joy.
It was achieved by sheer determination on his part and a lot of patience.
The small tube in the tank was not connected to the nipple on the fuel pump assembly so when the fuel level dropped below the resorvoir hieght the pump could not suck fuel resulting in missing and then engine failure.
Several mechanics have acknowleged this as a major difficulty when installing pump kits to A8,s as the tube in the tank is not fixed solid and there is about 40mm of play in the locating pins of the unit making it blind luck to get the right position.
Thanks to the forum and in particular to Bvarghese for the knowledge during this trying excercise.
