Of course this will jinx me, eh?
I'll admit that my sample time is pretty low, I've just gone over 900 miles so far. As for the MMI not opening, I've found that it won't open when the door is open, close the door and the screen will pop-up. My only complaints would be about the Audiopilot and the management of the radio stations. My car has done very well during my extend business trips, but a trickle charger helps that.
I understand that bad news travels fast, and this forum is a conduit for that. I'm completely happy with my car and the more miles I put on it, the more I'm impressed with it. This car is so much beyond my '00 A6 4.2 that I traded in. The handling, comfort, and features that this car have are amazing.

i'm not scared to drive this car. also not scared to own this car. rather, i'm absolutely fond of this car. i usually average about 18K miles per year. with this car, looks like i'm gonna hit 36K miles in a year. it's just that irresistable and amazing.

Whenever I get back to Madrid, it'll be too soon. I went and cruised around north Texas yesterday for a couple of hours. It was good to 'bond' with my car. It was also fun to use the Nav to find "twisty" roads to drive (alright, it's just straight roads connected by 90 degree corners, but that's what you get out here in the plains).
I anticipate hitting the 1K mark tomorrow. So time to stop watching the movies in the back seat and get out and drive Greenie, I know there are some fun roads back there ;-)

Will do Captain!! It looks as though this `04 is going to be the topic of "interesting" conversation especially concerning Japanese vs. German engineering and reliability. I just hope that WW lll doesnt break out!
