Does this S8 look "wrong" to anyone else?

The only thing 'wrong' is that it has the 'comfort' seats, not the sport seats usually found in the S8 - the comfort seats were an option...
The alcantara was also an option (I think around $3000).
Looks legit to me.

The Alcantara option in 2001 was $3,500. It was only available if you got the standard sport seats. You could not have the Alcantara option if you chose the "comfort" seat option.
The Alcantara option gave you Alcantara on the hatshelf in back, on the headliner, and on the center of the seats.
Based on the cars that I've followed on ebay and autotrader over the last couple years, I'd say that only 10% of 2001-2002 S8 cars got the Alcantara option. Its only my guess; maybe somebody here has actual production numbers for us. Audi USA could probably tell us.
It is noteworthy that there was no Alcantara option for 2003 S8's (in the USA).
I'm not sure how many S8 cars were imported to the USA in 2001 and 2002, but I've heard it was roughly 600. If my 10% guess is correct, then only 60 cars would have had the Alcantara package.
Some people love Alcantara on the seats, and other people seem to only want leather. Looking at European Audi sites, it appears that Alcantara seating surfaces are an option on the D3 A8 (but not an option in the USA). Of course cloth and other non-leather seating has always been more popular in Europe, as compared to the USA.
