Dual-pane glass?

Ok it says that the 99 cars and over have dual-pane glass. Uh...as in...3mm of glass then 3mm of air then 3mm of glass? Ala Benz and BMW windows that have black rubber modling around the perimeter? I don't think I have these on my car, they sure look like regular windows to me. Are they special for sound-proofing or something? Doesn't look it AT ALL. Car is quiet though (although nothing spectacularly different over new cars these days).

Really...hmm. I read about that before. Well, on my 1999, about 10 days ago I got mine tinted 20% all around. Looks awesome. =)
Wow are you serious? If someone smashed one of your side windows, that's 2900 to repair? Can't be. That sounds totally wacked.

checking the top edge of the glass, the single pane looks like a normal piece of auto glass, the double pane has 2 peaks with a valley in between them.....I knew someone who had a problem with his door, BIG dent from a woman backing into him in a mini van, instead of repairing the aluminum, they pulled a door off another car, and painted to match, but the old door was single pane, and his car was all dual pane, so the dealer changed it out, took 7 hours of labor to do it!!!!

If you car has the rear sunshades, then it has the dual pane glass. It is very obvious, roll the window half way down, put your finger at the top of the glass and you will feel the gap half across the glass. It will be indented. If you don't feel this, you don't have it.
I believe it's just two panes with enough room to sandwich an "E" filter or something like that inbetween. If there is a gap, then it's in the middle of the window, not the edge.
