Anyone know if say the dealer can test the ECU off the car to see if it may be causing a missfire problem or where I may obtain or borrow and ECU to install and see if that is the issue?

I have a "spare" unit on the book shelf.
Audi P/N 4DO 907 557 M
Bosch designation 0 261 204 627
Made in Germany 16.04.98 so it's a bit newer.
Perhaps we could work something out.
regards
Cal

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/154401/100_0244.jpg"></center><p>ok finally found the problem or Al at CPT did.
I had the cam to cam timing on one head off. It looked like it was on but after it was pointed out to me. It is a tooth off. Both dots are a little high and so each accounts for a 1/2 tooth. I thought that if they were off it would be more obivous.
Depending on how you look at it it can fool you.here is a pic.
