Default ECU/TCU Box removal

Is it possible to remove the waterproof ECU/TCU box? It has a 10mm nut at the front but is very solidly mounted and I cant see any other fixings. I have a problem with water getting into the car in this area so need to see what it is (gromet or the like) but cant get to it with the box in place.

Default Control box is not waterproof, and it's sitting in a water catch-area. Isnt that wonderful?

Your cowl and AC condenser drains are clogged; that is your problem.

In a heavy rainfall, if you have clogged drains, your car will flood and your ECU will fry, and burn out the fuel pump as well.

My cowl and air con drains are fine, I have checked all of them and all are folwing perfectly well. I dont have water in the box itself its perfectly dry in there from what I can tell so far.

Default do you mean just the tcm/ecm or the whole box?

removing the tcm/ecm is pretty straight-forward, but the complete box would be a nightmare, due to the number of heavy looms terminating in the box. the ones from the dash that come through the firewall are particularly troublesome.

Default Fuel pump won't always burn out

I just happened to get "lucky." Luck like mine requires two conditions: LOTS of water and a very low tank. The former to pull the fuel pump relay to ground and the latter to cause the pump to overheat and burn out.

Default Didn't we decide that the pump cooked when it stopped turning due to low voltage?

... but so long as it's pumping fuel it can run indefinitely because that's what it does when the car runs (with the uninjected excess fuel returning to the tank via the fuel pressure regulator)?
