Default Eibach or S8 spring impressions...

I'm trying to decide. Ride height is not a factor becasue I can make spacers. What concerns me is harshness. I'm trying to rid my A8 of it's floaty front end with out making the car uncomfortable. Now I have stock springs with Bilstein SP shocks. They work well over small road irregularities but over larger dips the car bottoms out. Has anyone had both, and please share their experiences?

Default Eibachs are mid-way between stock and H&Rs. Never had S8s.

Go for it, and get an S8 rear sway bar while you're messing with it. It's not too harsh, at all, to me. The H&R's got that way, especially towards the end, when I think the springs had undergone some plastic deformation.

Default Got my Eibachs and Bilsteins installed today

It really tightened up the car imo. Steering feels tight and precise whereas before it felt vague and dead. Had an alignment so that may also be contributing to the change. The setup isn't as harsh as I expected (after reading some opinions). I think it's going to be fine on these N.E. Ohio roads. Overall, very happy with this suspension.

Still have the stock rear sway bar - that's another porject

Default I have Eibachs with Bilsteins and 19" wheels.

I replaced each component seperately to see how each would effect the ride. The 19" wheels & tires and the shocks made little difference in ride vs the springs had the most effect. My A8 rides like a sports car now. It handles well for a 4K lb car. Hope this helps.

Default Re: Eibach or S8 spring impressions...

LEAVE FACTORY SHOCKERS IN THE FRONT AND BILLSTEIN IN THE BACK. FIT EIBACH ALL ROUND AND NO BIGGER ALLOYS THAN 18" WITH 45 PROFILE TYRES. BEATS THE FACTORY S8 SETUP BY A MILE.
