recently my check engine light came on and remained on. i pulled a PO304 off the computer. its a cylinder no. 4 misfire detected indication. My plan is to replace the spark plugs and wires as i cant seem to find in my records the last time this was done. i'v also heard it might be my mass air sensor? If i replace my plugs n wires and that actually was the problem, will that clear the code or should i erase it with my scan tool? also what else have you guys seen cause a misfire code?
my car is a 1998 audi A4 with the 2.8 v6 and quatro.

... check and see if the problem stayed in #4, or if moved to the new location.
It the issue stayed in #4, then it could be a plug, or wire.
If it moved to the new location, you may need to replace the coil pack.
Good luck,

i went to go do this and realized i had a prob. Its probably right there in my face and just am being dumb about it...but after i removed the star bolts so i could switch packs i relaized the eltrical connections underneath it all was still attached...where do i disconnect this w/o breaking anything..i was not able to find where it comes appart...this is the first time i have tried to do anything with coil packs and i do not want to cause any unneeded damage,.
