Default Exterior mod: Painting bottom plastics

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/44964/a8-pintado.jpg"></center><p>According A8-GTi post (My exterior mods are complete!!), there is a question always in my mind.
I hate the black colour of A8 botton.
I am not very good with photoshop, but I prepared an illustration about I mean.

Of course, debadging the car, clear sidemarkers and chrome mirror caps make a car look stunning, but i think painting black plastics is a very good complement.

Any of you painted his car like this? What do you think about?

PD. A8Gti, I am waiting for your pics too :-)

I too have considered painting the black lower section of my silver A8. The link below has some of the pictures that are motivating me to want to do the painting. The front and back of the car look especially nice painted.

My concern is how well the silver paint will hold up on the thin rubber strip that is part of the lower plastic trim at the bottom of the doors.

I did notice the new A8 is painted below the rockers and it gives the car a substantial look that I like. I too am interested in others opinions of this look.<ul><li><a href="http://www.euro-car-service.com/audipic8.htm">http://www.euro-car-service.com/audipic8.htm</a</li></ul>

Default Painting lowers... I like that look a lot too.

But I wouldn't lower the car as much as the one pictured. A lot of folks are painting the lower parts on A4's and A6's....

Default That mod looks great, My buddy did it on his Allroad.

he painted the wheel fenders too, and he said it looks great. I cant wait to see it. I recently messed up my bumper. Parking block got it as I backed out and really messed it up. The things that hold it on each side broke off. one side stays up the drivers side droops and I cant get it to stay up. I was looking for new bumpers, but I don't think my wife is going to like me spending over a grand on paint shipping and 777 for the part.. Ugg.. I am thinking of glueing the mother on.. well see.

Default I'm going to have my silver painted just like that in few weeks..

I'll get the whole thing painted. I hope that the sides will hold up. if you just paint the front and back, it does not look all that good (look below).

<img src="http://33rpm.com/images/audi/a8paintedall2.jpg">
some guy here that got his painted all around (looks good!)

<img src="http://33rpm.com/images/audi/a8paintedall.jpg">
another shot of the same

<img src="http://33rpm.com/images/audi/A8paintedfrontback.jpg">
if you just paint the front and back, the result is not as pleasing.

<img src="http://33rpm.com/images/audi/A8paintedfrontback3.jpg">
ummm.... better paint all around...

as soon as I get it back, I'll post some pics...

I would agree with you that it doesn't look as good if you don't paint the rockers.

I do think the pictures that you have may look a little worse since the car is not lowered.

I do think that it looks better if the whole bottom is painted since it make the lines of the car flow better.
