Default Factory Installed Hands Free Question

Aside from the tutorial on Audipages.com that involves taking the seats out, etc. to hard wire a hand held in, has anyone found a way to use the mic, speaker, installed with the car? I don't want a second number in addition to my hand held but also don't want to install an after market hands free kit when the car already has it. I can't believe that Sprint of Verizon havn't come up with a cable that connects your current hand held into the plug in the car to implent the mic/speaker without using the cell service in the trunk. Any ideas?????

Default If you have a 98 and newer, you can do this

You need a brain box.....if you have one installed it's a Motorola analog one that can only be used with the installed handset.

You can buy an aftermarket kit for about $120 from ebay for essentially every kind of phone out there and bring this to a phone place and have them hook it up like this:

what is that I'm looking for on ebay? Is there a specific brand or should I look up "integration kit" in their cell phone category? Please let me know as much info as you can provide as I am very intersted in doing this. THANKS!!! Does this use the factory installed mic and speaker?

Default Depending on what kind of

phone you have, you can get handsfree kits from Clair, www.clairparts.com for Motorola and Nokia.

Default If your phone has Bluetooth...

Sony does the HCB 30 and the newer HCB 300 handsfree bluetooth kits for about $160 on ebay. If your phone is set up for voice dailing, you can keep it in your pocket, or chuck it the glovebox. Lovely. Do a search for HCB 30 on the forum and you'll get a bunch of "how to" installs
