Fault codes for steering wheel
I posted a few days ago about my steering wheel issue and the airbag light. I told the dealer that all my functions on the steering wheel are not working ( NO heated function, No Tiptronic control, No radio, No horn. ) The airbag light is also on in the guage cluster. I tried to convince him it was the clockspring but he could not confirm that from the codes he pulled. If anyone has any insight into this please let me know. The codes are ( hope I copied them correctly )
00588 Driver Airbag + 95 resistance too high
01426 Operation Unit in steering wheel no communication.
Thanks

Those codes would point me DIRECTLY to the clock spring! It's the only common....
failure point I'm aware of for those two components. Plus, the clock spring is a known weak-link in the Audi.
