Default Faulty retracting mirror...

Does anyone have a diagram or advice of how to dismantle fully the passenger side mirror assembly? I can get the housing off but can't see how to separate the rest of the workings from the door. Mine won't electrically retract anymore and the whole unit wobbles while driving.

Default Appreciate the response, but it doesn't show how to get the whole unit off...

just the housing. The retracting mechanism is fixed to the door and it looks complicated

Default try this

Sorry, I thought it was in there. I don't know if you're at home the moment, but maybe you could check out this link for an another audi and see if it can help because i believe the screws are in the same place.

Default That's just it...

unfortunately it looks like a bigger job than I'd hoped for. I'll end up removing the inside door panel and then find out I won't be able to mend the motor. Still it's worth a try. Thanks for all your help.

Default The black triangle shaped cover inside just pops off. There is a bolt behind it. You don't have to

remove the door trim to get to it.

I just replaced a non-retracting, non mirror tilt and wobbly passenger mirror on my S8 with a unit from A8Parts.co.uk. Tilting works fine now but it doesnt retract still, no noise, nothing. Is there a fuse or something else that controls this too?
