Not only did I receive the RNS-D yesterday in the mail, but I also received a RNS-E from Proxus who lives in the Chicagoland area.
He gave me a plug and play wiring harness, it has very limited functionality right now (doesn't even turn on and off with the car, no lights, etc.) but the radio works. Very cool. Sorry for the crummy pictures.

I bought an A4 unit, had to take the chrome strip off the bottom and then trim it with a hacksaw to cut the bottom 1/8" lip that held the chrome strip in place. You can see where there is some interference between it and the HVAC panel, so when I remove it, I will bevel this to remove the interference and it should have a perfect fit.
Had to just take 150 grit sandpaper to the top corners (they were square) and round them out. It took about 25-30 minutes to trim it.....I would say very nice fit. Didn't do anything to the sides.
Here is my Motorola bluetooth phone kit that I installed last weekend, took out the switch assembly, need to mount the bluetooth in there, maybe on a block of wood that I cover with material.....where is that left over alcantara???
It's really nice, except it did not have enough volume at the B pillar speaker (couldn't use it except when sitting still), it now comes over the radio speakers with the RNS-E and the volume is perfect. You can voice dial, it verbally speaks the incoming caller ID with an incoming call.....very nice.
I don't know if I will put the factory bluetooth module in for a while....my wallet hurts right now.

I also got a XM module from the local dealer, they no longer sell them, but had one in stock. List was something like $500, they had $350 into it.....I got it for $250, but I returned my unopened rear rotors and pads, so out the door for $62 for a factory XM module that I will control through the RNS-E! I also gave my favorite parts manager a 1 liter bottle of 10 Cane Rum......
TeddyBGame is making me wiring harnesses for everything.....will be on vacation out of the country for 10 days starting in 10 days.....hopefully they will be done by they time I return!

I have a friend who lives near Northwestern. When I get around to hunting down an S8, maybe he'll let me come stay with him and I can spend weekends turning up at your house early on Saturday morning. "Hey, Paul, whachoo up to today? I brought some beer..."

One thing I really love is the suspension. It handles as well as my 97 with H&R's but the ride is not rough like my old car was....
And it looks new!!!
