Mjdo112, in past posts you stated that your 97 A8 was making front end noise from the sway bar bushings and the dealer had injected them with oil to silent them. I was wondering if that continues to solve the problem. Were you able to find out if Audi would warranty this as Kjella stated Audi does in Europe? I am experiencing a similar "creeking" noise from my 99 A8 and would like to have the problem silenced. I have 60k miles so I am no longer under the factory warranty. Thanks!

I was told only if you are the original owner? this came for AoA the girl I spoke with was aware of the noise and stated clearly that is an origial owner only covered repair. Tha's ok mine still makes some noise and Audi's flagship sounds like a piece of crap on occation. I get over it as the sound is not constant but I'm sure their potential customers don't. I've also contacted AoA on a couple of other issues/questions with poor response. My impression from experience and reading the posts of others is that AoA and many dealers (Sunset Motors) really don't give a crap about the owners and in particular if you did not buy the car new.

You must be in Portland.

I haven't had to deal with Sunset much yet, but the car is going on for service on the 18th. Someone I know works there, so I would imagine that may make a difference. I'll keep you posted as to my service experience.

My A8 is Black/Anthracite/Debadged. You'll know me if you see me: olp = DOC PC.
There is also a melange A8L near me, and a green one in Forest Heights. There are 3 other Audi's in my 'hood: an 80, a TT coupe and an A6 4.2.

URL to match the plate

I had the same problem. A8 is just over the five years for Audi to correct the problem. However I bought the car from audi dealer. second owner, first owner was audi UK. Full service history and under 40000 miles. On contacting audi they agreed to pay half of cost of repair.
This is a common problem si I'm told. I'm not sure if it was a design fault or a bad batch. Audi do a kit to replace all suspension arms on both sides.
As far as I know there has been no recall, just a free repair if under five years old.

Have not seen you around. However, I don't get out beyond 217 unless I'm going out to Intel (Customer meetings). I'll keep an eye out. debadged eh? I was thinking of putting a 1.8T badge in place of the 4.2.
